This letter is your invitation to become a member of High Country Hounds. As High Country Hounds starts its 32nd season as a recognized hunt, I would like for you to join in a small, unique, and wonderfully fun group of foxhunters. You might ask, "What is unique about High Country Hounds?" First, we are concerned and committed to the welfare oif our hounds in a program that sustains them throughout a lifetime in our pack. We are a no-cull pack and retire older hounds to the comfort of the house when they are too old to hunt.Secondly, we want to have fun on the chase, so we are a supportive group to ride with for your first hunt or your hundredth hunt. We do not hunt at the expense of our hounds or our horses. We are a no-kill hunt, so the experience of the chase and the camaraderie of the field are the foremost goals when we take hounds out to hunt.We are "cubbing" on Sunday October 16 and 23. with our Opening Hunt and the start of the Formal Hunt Season on Sunday October 30th. Starting the Season, we will hunt on November 6,13,20, and December 4,11, and 18. The particulars will be published on a Fixture Card. We will publish a second Fixture Card for 2012 in December.We are encouraging folks to come out and invite your friends on the 16th and 23rd of October. Go through some dry runs with us and see if you feel this is something that you would like to do. I encourage you to join us and search for that nugget whether it be in the company you hunt with, the horse you ride or the beauty of the wild world around you..
